Uncommon Favor

A good [man] obtains favor from the LORD, But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.

Proverbs 12:2 (NKJV)

Good Morning!

Happy Monday everyone! Uncommon favor is the viral phrase online today. Why don’t we lean into it? Over the last month, we have been sharing about favor in this newsletter devotional. If you have missed any of our emails, you can view them here. As we have shared on favor, we have heard amazing stories of small and big examples of God’s favor working in different areas of people’s life. Don’t miss this Sunday at Faith Christian Center! Our special guest speaker will be Tim Storey!

When we study the Word of God, we see that there are individuals who experienced uncommon favor such as Noah, Joseph, Esther, and Daniel. Noah lived in an extremely wicked and dangerous time. However, he obtained uncommon favor with God. How?

These are the records of the generations (family history) of Noah. Noah was a righteous man [one who was just and had right standing with God], blameless in his [evil] generation; Noah walked (lived) [in habitual fellowship] with God.

Genesis 6:9 (AMP)

Noah didn’t compromise, he lived by faith (Hebrews 11:7), and he had an actual relationship with God. This way of living positioned Noah for uncommon favor. There are many wonderful aspects of the favor of God revealed in the Scriptures. God grants favor as gracious gifts and joyful rewards.

God has uncommon favor for you today! In Proverbs 11:27, it says that the person who earnestly seeks good will find favor. The phrase of earnestly seeking good comes from the Hebrew word that paints the picture of someone rising early to start a task and pursuing that task with discipline and focus. We should pursue what is good with the passion this Hebrew word describes. In Proverbs 12:2, we saw a similar proverb that a good person obtains favor from the Lord. We shared that good person is a person who allows the fruits of the Spirit called goodness and kindness (also translated as gentleness) to operate in their life in an ever increasing way.

In this message, I share why it is vitally important to pray for favor and open doors!

Our journey in understanding the favor of God not only causes growth in our lives, it makes a wonderful difference in the lives of others. This journey of growth in God’s favor causes His light to be displayed all around us. Noah’s uncommon favor impacted his family. Joseph’s favor impacted a nation. Esther and Daniel’s favor changed the policies and plans of empires. As we grow in understanding and application of the favor of God, I know we will see the marvelous results of God’s favor in our lives.

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, thank you for your favor and your help. I believe your favor surrounds me as a force field. I ask for greater levels of your favor to manifest in my life. I ask for your help, today. Lord, help us grow in understanding of your favor so that we can live in the upward cycle of favor. I ask that you show us how we all can be wise stewards of your favor. Your favor makes the difference in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

In our podcast devotional today, I share why you must see yourself differently. You need to see yourself as a recipient of God’s great love and mercy. In Friday’s devotional, I shared why you must stop saying that you’re unworthy. If you’re going to walk in uncommon favor, you must realize the blood of Jesus has made you worthy.

Thank you for starting your day with Faith in the Morning. We love you and are praying for you. Have a miraculous day!
