Do You Remember This Song?

Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

John 7:37-39 (AMPC)

Good Morning,

There was a song that I remember singing growing up through children’s church, school, different services and conventions, and in ministry school. It was a song about the rivers that are supposed to flow from us. Do you know or remember this song below?

I've Got a River of Life
I've got a river of life flowing out of me!
Makes the lame to walk, and the blind to see.
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free!
I've got a river of life flowing out of me!

Spring up, O well, within my soul!
Spring up, O well, and make me whole!
Spring up, O well, and give to me
That life abundantly.

There is so much profound truth wrapped up in this simple song. According to John 4, there is a well of eternal life within you that helps you in this life. According to John 7, the rivers that flow from you can transform the world around you. Acknowledge that well and those rivers today.

One way to acknowledge the well and rivers is by singing this simple song. Whenever you continually acknowledge something, you will increase your awareness of it. God has put life-giving transformative power within you by the power of His Spirit and it becomes more active as you continue to place your faith in Jesus.

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I thank you for loving me. I believe in you, your love, and your plan for my life. This week, I pray that you help me grow in understanding concerning the rivers of life that you want to flow from me. Help me bring needed positive change in the world around me. I love you. Thank you for first loving me. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
