Did You Know You Live In Goshen?

"And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms [of flies] shall be there, in order that you may know that I [am] the LORD in the midst of the land.

So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Exodus 8:22, 10:22-23 (NKJV)

Good Morning,

Did you know you live in Goshen? Goshen was the dwelling place of the Children of Israel while they lived in Egypt. While judgement fell upon Egypt, the Children of Israel had a distinctly different experience in Goshen. If God could preserve the Children of Israel who were still coming out of slavery, what can He do for you who are beneficiaries of the new covenant? Far more than you have previously believed or imagined!

Just because bad times, negative harvest of consequences, and evil runs rampant in the world, it doesn’t mean that it has to run rampant in your house. You live in Goshen. Psalm 91 protection belongs to you.

When you see evil running rampant in the world, don’t agree with it. Say, “I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The Lord is my refuge and my fortress. He is my God. I trust in Him."

Learning to dwell in Goshen (the Psalm 91 secret place) in the midst of troublesome times will enable you to make a difference in this world, shine the light of God’s goodness, and rescue others from the darkness.

In our podcast devotional today, I share how light will rise for you. Stream it and share it with a loved one, friend, or neighbor. In our Faith+ reading plan this Summer, we will read through the Book of Judges, Ruth, 1st & 2nd Samuel, and 1st & 2nd Kings. Tomorrow, start by reading Judges chapter 1. Have a great day!
