Happy Good Friday!

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Hebrews 10:19-23 NLT

Good Morning!

Happy Good Friday! Today, we commemorate the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tonight, we’ll have a special Good Friday Experience that I would love for you to stream. It begins at 7:00PM EST.

Before we get in to today’s devotional, I want to share a wonderful opportunity that we were blessed and entrusted with. As you may know, I have published two books with Harrison House. Other Harrison House authors include Rick Renner, Joseph Z, MiChelle Ferguson, Kylie Gatewood, David Winston, Kellie Copeland, and many other wonderful, talented, and anointed ministers and leaders. Harrison House has granted me the opportunity to share a 15% discount with you! Click this link to see all of the wonderful books available to you now with a 15% discount. Enjoy!

In our newsletter this week, we’ve covered how the blood of Jesus has liberated us from our past and set us up for a wonderful future with God. Jesus’ sacrifice removed the barrier between us and God. His sacrifice made a way for us.

“At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. But the rest said, “Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.” Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭45‬-‭51‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When Jesus died, the veil was torn from the top to the bottom. This veil was approximately four inches thick and separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the temple and all of humanity. The veil was torn from top to bottom symbolizing God reaching down to His beloved creation. As Hebrews 10 shares above, “By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him.”

There’s no longer any barrier between us and God. We can walk right into His presence. As I share in today’s podcast devotional, this access is meant to produce a boldness within us. We have access to the Almighty God. He actually wants to hear from us. He really wants us to boldly approach the throne of grace so that we can receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

Too many times we allow our own shortcomings to form a mental barrier and we reason ourselves out of this blood bought boldness. You will never fix your problem shying away from God or running away from Him. You have access to God. Never forget it. This is a Good Friday for us because the sacrifice of Jesus washed away our sins, delivered us from the authority of darkness, redeemed us from the curse of the law, purchased our total salvation, and granted us access to God. This is indeed a Good Friday.

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, thank you for your favor and your help. I thank you that I have access to you. Help me grow in the boldness that comes from this access so I can boldly live the life you have called me to live. I believe your favor surrounds me as a force field. I ask for greater levels of your favor to manifest in my life. Lord, help us grow in understanding of your favor so that we can live in the upward cycle of favor. I ask that you show us how we all can be wise stewards of your favor. Your favor makes the difference in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
