The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

  He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

  He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

Do you remember the children’s game, Follow The Leader? It’s simple in concept. In that game, everyone follows the leader and does what the leader does.

John 10 tells us that Jesus is our Good Shepherd. Psalm 23 informs us with what our Good Shepherd wants to do in our life. Where He is leading us is far better than our present situation and far more wonderful than what we have previously imagined. Since He is leading us, it is our job to follow. We need to follow the leader.

Follow His leading today. You will be glad you did. One of the places He leads you to is rest. Tonight, during our Midweek Bible Study, I’m continuing our mini-series, The Rhythm of Rest. In this series, I’m explaining how God leads us to rest, how this rest causes us to be creatively productive, and how this rhythm creates a fulfilling and enjoyable life.
