What Are YOU Expecting Today?
Good Morning!
Today, I want this to echo throughout your heart and your soul: your expectation is your responsibility. Your expectation for your day cannot be set by your spouse, your family, your job, your circumstances, or the news. You have to set your expectation and not let it be dictated by external pressures and circumstances.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalm 27:13 KJV
As we covered yesterday, the Psalmist declared that he would have fainted and given up if he didn’t believe that he would see God’s goodness in his life. He truly believed that God’s goodness would show up in his life. His expectation was the goodness of God. You must have the same expectation. You must expect God’s goodness to show up in every area of your life. The definition of God’s goodness covers ever area of your life.
Goodness is defined as good things, prosperity, property, supply, and provision. It is good in the widest sense of the word and good to the farthest extreme. That’s what God wants you to experience. Don’t downgrade your expectation because you ran into a setback, a disappointment, or somebody was rude to you. God is still good anyhow and He is an expert at making everything work out for your good.
Psalm 52:1 reminds us that the goodness of God endures continually. Psalm 145:9 (NLT) declares, “The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.” Psalm 107:8 reminds us to praise God for His goodness. When you face challenges this week, remember to declare, “I will see the goodness of God in this area of my life.”
Thank God for the goodness you have experienced, are experiencing, and will experience. Something good is going to happen to you today, so expect it!
